How to Install Ubuntu Alongside Windows Using AutoMounter

Are you looking to install Ubuntu alongside your existing Windows system? With the help of AutoMounter, this process has become much easier than ever before. In this article, we will walk you through the steps required to install Ubuntu beside Windows.

Step 1: Choose Your Installation Method

When installing Ubuntu, you have two options - Install Ubuntu beside Windows or Erase disk and install Ubuntu. If you choose the former option, you can use the left space on your hard disk for Ubuntu installation. Additionally, you can also encrypt your system using the 'Advanced features' option.

Step 2: Choose Your Installation Location

In the next page, you will be asked to choose where to install the Ubuntu system. You have two options - choose a disk or assign partition manually. We usually recommend choosing the former option unless you only need a web browser and core system libraries.

Step 3: Configure Additional Options

Once you have selected your installation location, you can configure additional options such as updates and third-party software under 'Other options'. Make sure to check the boxes for any preferred options if you have an internet connection.

Step 4: Choose Your Installation Type

Next, you will be prompted to choose between a 'Normal Installation' or a 'Minimal Installation'. If you are unsure, you can select the default option. Additionally, use the 'Detect Keyboard Layout' option or select your keyboard layout manually if the default is not correct.

Step 5: Start the Installation Process

Once you have completed the above steps, you can start the installation process by clicking 'Install Ubuntu'. You will be taken to a page where you can select additional options such as creating a shortcut icon to launch the installer again or trying the live system by clicking 'Try Ubuntu'.

Step 6: Boot into Your New System

Finally, select the first menu entry or the second 'safe graphics' option if the first one does not work for your machine. You will be able to boot into your new Ubuntu system.
